Originally conceived as a prelude to Courteney Hooper’s Vampire at the Supermarket, Sunny Day In Transylvania is a simple tune at heart with an eerie, evil edge. At its core lies the sinister major seventh interval, surrounded by chromatic movement, lush harmony, and moments of unexpected beauty. The piece invites the audience to imagine themselves strolling through vampiric shopping aisles, pondering the eternal question: “Homebrand or premium blood?”
